Ethan is 5 years old. Just typing that makes my eyes big. I can’t believe that 5 years ago, we didn’t have this little spitfire of a blessing. We are SO much better for it. Having our two boys has enriched our lives in countless ways and we are very grateful.
Here’s Ethan his last moments as a 4 year old on the night before his birthday:
Here he is as a big 5 year old with his Daddio and brother after church:
That afternoon we went to our community pool with our friends to enjoy some cupcakes* and fun time together. I envision this happening regularly this summer. We are really blessed by these friends!!
*The cupcakes, for all of you who are laughing at the thought of our family eating them, were gluten free and pretty good! Please see this yummy picture as proof:
Ethan was blessed left and right by sweet cards, phone calls, videos, skypes and gifts. Here are just a few of the ones we captured:
This boy is a sweetheart. He shares his toys incredibly well with his brother and often goes above and beyond to be helpful to him or to me. The other day I overheard him saying to Micah, “don’t forget to say thank you to Mom when she gives us our food.” He is 49 pounds and…I don’t know how tall because I haven’t measured him again, yet. He usually wears 5T for his clothes, but can also fit in boys small (what?!?). He loves cars, puzzles, legos, books (he’s listened to 870 pages since May 20th), coloring/stickers, riding his scooter, swimming and helping around the house. He knows close to 50 countries now, but his favorite is “Iran…because it’s something we do.” He’s our sweet little blessing and we can’t imagine life without him.
(Don’t worry, Micah will be in the spotlight again soon enough. =))
