Last week Aunt Jennie came to Atlanta for a trade show downtown for her company, Venture Imports (http://www.ventureimports.com). It’s a lot of hard work and I always like to go and help her for a day, plus it’s a huge learning opportunity for me since I’m trying to be more mindful about buying fair trade. We invited Grandma to come visit at the same time, since she also likes to help out at the show. We always love our time with both of them!!
Here’s Ethan cleaning the house to get it ready for our visitors:
After picking up Grandma from the airport, we had a picnic at a splash park downtown. It’s a splash park we have been wanting to check out ever since our family ran in the 5k to support the Atlanta Dream Center. Micah was a bit tentative at first, but we all had a blast.
We spent a lot of time reading books, doing beads, and practicing writing during our down times at home throughout the week:
And we planned enough excursions to keep us busy:
I went downtown to help Jennie on Saturday. The boys, Mike and Grandma went to the Farmers Market and enjoyed Chipotle for dinner. Here’s Jennie’s booth:
On Monday, Grandma helped Jennie take down the booth. That evening we had a little time with them to eat dinner and read some books:
We spent some time at the pool the following day and then had to bring Grandma back to the airport. We loved having her with us!!
We had a great, but way too short, visit with Aunt Jennie. We spent some time doing puzzles and reading around the house. We also went for a hike and had a picnic on the top of the “mountain”!
We are very, very blessed by such a great family. It’s not something we take lightly. Loved spending time with these ladies!
