This post includes random pictures throughout the last month. They don’t fit neatly in a specific category of their own, but I thought they’d be fun to have!
Ethan’s school pictures this year (pretty cute, but more expensive than cute in our opinion):
For those of you who have heard about “ooh baby”…this is the projector Dusty airplane that is affectionately known as “ooh baby” in our house:
I love to sneak pictures of the boys sleeping…especially when they do so with a book in their arms:
Ethan with various insects he found outside:
Trying on his fishing hat from Grandpa Russ:
Playing on the stairs:
We celebrated our sweet neighbor’s birthday this month. The boys took drawing her a card very seriously! We made some cookies to go with the cards and had fun visiting with their family:
Micah loves drinking Chia seed drinks most mornings. I think he especially likes making his face messy:
The boys and I snapped a couple pictures of us just being silly:
When Ethan is at school, Micah will occasionally pick to play with something other than cars. (I welcome the opportunity to switch things up a bit) He seems to like playing with cars while E is at school because he can play with “Ethan’s cars”. Somehow they have managed to agree that certain cars are Micah’s and certain cars are Ethan’s…even though we really just try to encourage them to share all of them. Anyway, I snapped a few pictures of Micah enjoying his farm:
Micah can be very serious while playing music:
Here’s Ethan in his room. I literally walked in and found him like this:
Ethan continues to LOVE talking about countries and drawing their flags. Every day at dinner, Ethan starts thinking of a country for the rest of us to guess. He gives us the first letter of his country and then we just guess until we get it right. Tell tale signs that Ethan is thinking of his favorite country, Burundi, is that he tends to get a giant grin on his face before saying, “It starts with a ‘B'”. Now he just hides under the table to say it so that we can’t see his smiling face. Even Micah gets in on the joke now and asked Mike the other day, “Hey Dad! Are you wearing your Burundies??” Oh my word. A cashier overheard Micah saying, “Papua New Guinea” over and over while we were waiting in line. She just looked at me and said, “is he really saying Papua New Guinea??” I think we must be very amusing for people!! We are very thankful that the boys enjoy learning and are so curious about the world…it definitely makes teaching them things like that a breeze.
The boys really enjoy routines. I’ve always known it was important, but it cracks me up when they remind me about what we do on certain days. Ethan told me today, “tomorrow is Monday, so we need to go to the library and get new books.” It’s true; we tend to go to the library on Monday mornings. =) The library used to be very intimidating to me…being quiet, keeping hands to ourselves, no wrestling…these things can be difficult for us. But lately, thankfully, they go right to their table to color and work on word searches while I hunt for about (okay, seriously, it’s exactly…but I am not specifically trying to do this) 16 new books to bring home.
Micah wanted to be held at the grocery store recently. I refused; Ethan obliged.
This boy LOVES playing games. His current favorites include: Crazy 8s, War, Rack-O, Rummikub, Connect 4 and Chutes and Ladders. Sometimes War lasts a little too long…I’m sure my face looked equally glum. =/
