Summers in Georgia

So our summer has been one exciting thing after another.  We’ve stayed busy with guests, trips, more guests, and more trips!  But we’ve also had some time just hanging out at the house.  This is a post dedicated to those random pictures of life at the house this summer.

One of the things we’ve been doing this summer is worksheets!!  Micah is working on the alphabet and starting to do a tiny bit of writing.  Ethan primarily does math problems and clocks/time.  We are also working on learning the state capitals and have a super fun song to go along with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0JYkgxUk34.  Ethan has about 30 of them down and Micah probably knows about 13.  It’s SO much fun watching them learn this and they love it!  I catch both of them singing parts of this song all day long.

We found a bunch of workbooks at Target before Independence Day and Ethan has absolutely LOVED going through these.  He loves learning all about the Presidents and telling me little facts that he is learning.

I had some friends over recently to watch “Great Expectations” (the new BBC version) after reading the novel with a couple of them.  I made fondue for the occasion, with a lot of help from our neighbors in Switzerland!  The boys got to try some of the left overs and loved it. =)  Serving the cheese fondue with pear was my favorite piece of advice from our friends.  Yum!

We continue to love to play games:

Sometimes we eat a little brussels sprouts as an appetizer before Daddio gets home from work.  And it just makes me smile.

We finished reading, “Ralph S. Mouse” and enjoyed watching that movie on Netflix.  Next up: Stuart Little and Charlotte’s Web.

We’ve also been having a blast with our Twister Trax.  I highly recommend this toy.  Lots of fun and very quick, easy clean up.
