Every year for the past three years, my best friend and I have planned a long-weekend family vacation together. The first trip we met in Louisville, KY. The following year we went to Cincinnati, OH. This year, we met in Nashville, TN. Cass and Adam did the LONG drive this year, so I envision our family making the longer trek in one of our future trips!
Here are the family pictures from the last two years, just for fun! It’s amazing to see how much older everyone (well, hopefully not EVERYONE) looks each year.
Here are some pics from our drive. Our boys spent a lot of time listening to books “on tape”, doing worksheets, reading books, and sleeping. It rained almost the entire drive (and much of the trip, too), but it went incredibly smoothly.
When we got to Nashville, we picked up the older kiddos’ t-shirts and registration “packet” for their race on July 4. Then we ate lunch together. Micah wanted to give Hana a hug, so he bravely went up to Hana and said, “May I please give you a hug, Hana?” And, of course, she was happy to oblige. It was raining and we were unable to get into our vacation house, so we hung out at the golf course nearby. We were hoping to eventually play the course, but the rain never let up long enough. We got to look at workbooks and play tag. These kiddos get along so well together that everything we did was fun – even if it was just avoiding the rain! And aren’t they cute in their coordinating shirts?? =D
This is the house where we stayed and a bunch of pictures of hang out time there. I’m not posting these pictures in any sort of order, just giving an idea of what kinds of things the kiddos did together during our down times at home. As you can see, they all love to read! And I think Ethan and Hana played a good 4 games of Monopoly together.
Our first night in Nashville we went out to eat at a fun restaurant a few minutes away from our house. Hana wanted to try sushi for her first time, so Mike and I ordered a little sushi to share with her. After our yummy dinner, we played disc golf and caught fireflies.
This was such a great trip together! Part 2 coming soon. =)
