This summer has been unlike any other summer we’ve had. My apologies for my delay in posting the second part of our Nashville trip. I already described some of the fun we had in and around our rental house. This post will feature some of the fun we had exploring Nashville.
The morning of July 4th, the big kids (E and Hana) participated in a race. This was, I believe, Hana’s very first race. It was Ethan’s first time running in a race – previous races he has always scooted. So this was a big milestone for the two of them and they got to do it without any parents (I gave them a safety talk. See picture). Somehow I had the impression that the race would be 1 mile…it was actually a 1k race and, truth be told, it wasn’t even actually that long. Our sweet kiddos were saving their energy to run a full mile! =)
We also spent some time exploring downtown Nashville and some cool restaurants. Unfortunately there was a lot of rain that weekend and it was a holiday, so we didn’t get to go to many of the places (parks, golf, restaurants) that we had intended. But it was SO much fun! We love our time with this family!
At night we watched the fireworks from our cars – rain again! It was supposed to be the best show in the country and it definitely started off cool (especially with the orchestra accompanying it), but soon we couldn’t see a thing because of all of the rain clouds. Still fun, but we’ve seen better in K-town growing up. =D
Our last day we spent around the house again and then had a yummy breakfast in Nashville before parting ways.
I love this family tradition and look forward to it every summer!!!
