Switzerland

Every day in Switzerland, Psalm 19 came into my head:

“The Heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of His Hands”

These pictures tell you why.  I have never seen a more beautiful land in my life.  We were stunned at the majesty of the mountains, the aqua color of the lakes, and the vibrant greens everywhere.  We took about 1000 pictures while exploring Switzerland and they all turned out great.  So, paring down to just a handful is incredibly difficult.

You may remember our sweet neighbors who moved back to Switzerland at the beginning of 2015.  We got to know them over their year in Georgia and had told them we would come visit them.  They were excellent hosts to us and we have them to thank for an incredible beginning to our trip.  There were many times that we would just look at each other and smile, pinching ourselves to see if we were dreaming.  Our friends took care of everything for us and planned an amazing 5 days!  I don’t think we could have come up with a better itinerary if we had spent years planning it.

Day 1: They met us at the airport where we rented the car we kept for the remainder of our trip.  Then we drove through the countryside, sampled delicious treats, checked out their home, and explored Bern.  We had dinner there and then drove back to Seraina’s parent’s house, ready to crash for the night.  After some drama with my parents’ flight and whatnot, they made it to Bern, too, so before heading to bed Mike drove to the train station and picked them up.

I’m having difficulties with the site right now, so I’m going to post this rather than lose all of my work thus far.  More to come…
