The Cleve Crew headed down to Flagstaff for Ashley’s (Mike’s sister) graduation last week! We had such a great trip. We started out after Mike finished his work day on Wednesday and drove to Moab, Utah. The boys are fantastic roadtrippers – they read books, listen to audiobooks, color, play army/war with crayons, and sleep. We had some new books from Grandma Cleve to use for the trip which was extra exciting. E finished at least 3 Magic Tree House books on the drive (even though he sometimes gets car sick)! We stopped in Grand Junction for a delicious dinner at “Spoons”. This was perfect because we ate outside and the boys ran around the whole time until our food arrived.
In the morning, we went to our first (of many) national park of the trip: Arches National Park. I cannot overstate how beautiful this park is. I was grinning almost the entire time there from the beauty. We only spent 2 hours there, but it was well worth it. We will definitely return!!
We squeezed in as much as we possibly could here and then continued on our way to the Grand Canyon (National Park #2 and second stamp for our NP books!). The boys slept for part of the way there and were ready to experience the Grand Canyon with Aunt Ashley, Grandma Cleve and Great Granny A when we arrived. We had a lovely picnic dinner together and then explored until sunset.
After sunset we drove the rest of the way to Flagstaff. I’ll do a separate post for that part of the trip.
